When you shop locally, you’re putting money back into your local economy. When we buy our supplies from local organic farmers, we’re supporting jobs and contributing to a lower carbon footprint and lower use of pesticides. We employ seven people, and many of us walk or cycle to work, reducing our overall carbon footprint. We recycle as much as possible and minimise waste, so clean packaging is returned to several suppliers for re-use, and vegetable waste goes to the owners’ collection of goats and chickens!
We have a refill service that provides many thousand litres per year of eco-friendly detergents, shampoo, handwash and showergel.
We appreciate that many people don’t have time to do all of their shopping locally, but independent shops can offer an enjoyable, social shopping experience.
